To those considering, or even those who still live at Casa Madrid, the following is my most honest opinions of the property:

I too was convinced that Casa Madrid was going to be a nice, safe place to live. Their agents are very tentative and persuasive. The exterior and landscaping is beautiful, as well as their website; but thats because that seems to be where all their funds go, the exterior and landscaping so first impressions are positive... but LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING.

We have been living at Casa Madrid, in a one bedroom apt for $1040.00 a month, YOU CAN GET A BEAUTIFUL APARTMENT IN IRVINE W/ MORE AMENITITES FOR A LITTLE OVER THAT. We incurred an extra charge because of the unusually large back patio. However, with so many problems, we are hindered from even enjoying it, we never step foot back there. When we first racked up the leaves, it took more than 10 trash bags full to collect the leaves and there were large amounts of pincher bugs, large roaches, spiders, and other bugs underneath the leaves. There is a tree in our neighbors yard, which they believe rats have nested in it. They complained to the Manager to cut it down, but they argued it would be too costly.

Small story short, here, is a BRIEF list of past and present problems:

1.Mold
2.Bugs and Rats in Backyard
3.Rats in Apartment. I had neighbors who had their pet eaten by a rat!
4.Dirty Carpet
5.Leaky Faucets
6.Broken Doors/ Screen Doors
7.Puddles EVERYWHERE, Almost EVERYDAY! So deep the bottom of our pants get wet.
8.High level of crime complaints (i.e. car and storage break-ins). Watched someone get arrested in complex.
9....and the list goes on.

Its true, they offer certificates to compensate for your problems. They offered us DINNER Certificates because of our rodent problem that has been going on, now, for MONTHS!

It seems as though they are concerned, but I really dont think they are. It takes them forever to return phone calls. So if youre thinking of moving here, regardless of what they OFFER YOU to move in, no offer is going to be good enough for what you are actually getting.

CHECK OUT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU website. They are very problematic. Look under ARNEL MANAGEMENT COMPANY.
