Overall horrible experience

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002
Lived at Casa Madrid for a year in a 2nd-story one-bedroom.
Our downstairs neighbor played music/watched TV at a ridiculous volume all the time. The people across the way fought loudly, and yelled at you if you looked at them fighting. The kids played games directly in front of our apartment seemingly all the time (school, anyone!') Notice a theme: this place is LOUD, so if you don't like constant, irritating noise, stay away.
My car was stolen, our storage was broken into and the contents stolen, and our mail was stolen and our checks susbequently defrauded. The management gave us a "Really'" and that was about it.
I have since heard from an Anaheim Police Officer that Casa Madrid is the Car Theft Capital of Anaheim.
The wall-unit A/C was in the living room, which made for some sweaty summer nights in the bedroom, even with a row of fans "drawing" the cool air into the bedroom.
And yes, we got charged for a lot when we moved out, but I don't know if this is any different than anywhere else. We cleaned the carpets, but were told that we had to be charged to clean them again because the furniture left impressions in the carpet! The neighborhood is not pleasant, and the one-bedroom wasn't all that cheap (especially after the one-year lease was up.)
Do yourself a favor. Stay away.
